America’s Boating Club of Sanibel-Captiva is rich with events, both social and civic. Our members invite you to join any (even all!) of them;
C&R “Cruise & Rendezvous” (In Season)
Watch for announcements of our C&R events held monthly throughout the season, September through May. Join members and their guests to journey by water or by land to a common destination to enjoy good food and camaraderie. Check the Social Calendar for how to reserve your spot at the next C&R.
Monthly Dinner Meetings (Except July and August)
Join us for our Club’s monthly dinner meetings. Catch up with friends, hear about the current Club business and enjoy our featured guest speaker. Reservations required by the Sunday before the meeting. Want to sit at a table hosted by a Board Member? Just let us know. Sanibel Sunset Causeway Potluck (In Season)
Come meet us on the Sanibel Causeway for a Sunset Potluck. Our Club hosts the monthly event during season providing our members and their guests an opportunity to share good food and camaraderie while watching the best show in town. Bring a dish to share, a beverage, and a chair. No reservations required. Just come!
Holiday Party
Come celebrate the holidays with your Boat Club friends. Held in late November or early December, our Club enjoys getting together at a local venue to celebrate the festivities with dinner and dancing. Watch your email and calendar for more information.
New Club Member Orientation
Our Club provides an Orientation Program for new members.
We match new members with a veteran member to familiarize them with our Club’s activities.
We invite new members to private get-togethers so that they can meet new friends and learn how to get involved in the Club.
Want to get out on the water with friends? Get closer to nature? Meet us for our kayak get-togethers to be held several times a year. Don’t have a kayak? We’ll help find one for you to rent or loan. Watch your calendar for the next monthly kayak event, Fall through late Spring

You’ll have your chance to do just that at the club’s booths at these events:
•Bailey Fest
This community event is held each fall in the parking lot of Bailey’s. What a wonderful tradition. There is something for everyone here: local music, play structures for kids, wonderful food, and all our island’s non-profits set up booths to showcase not only what they do, but how you can become involved.
•Farmers’ Market
Each January, just before “high season” on the island, our boating club sets up a booth to promote membership, but also to sign up boaters to have their Vessel Safety Check or to take courses currently being offered.
•Ft. Myers Boat Show
This Show is one of the two big boat shows in southern Florida. Along with the four area boating clubs (San Carlos Bay, Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, and Sanibel-Captiva), we “man” one day at the booth making sure our organizations are a prominent part of the boating community. After all, anyone buying a boat (or drooling over boats) should become a member!
•St. Charles Yacht Club Boat Show
Held in April, this local show attracts not only the yacht club members, but also nearby boat lovers. Our squadron plays an active role in this, not only in having a booth, but also in offering a “Boating Rodeo” where participants can demonstrate their skill in everything from knot tying to throwing a flotation ring.
These events make our club known to our Neighbors! Plan on joining the fun!
